Bio
JT Moring is a dynamic entertainer known for incisive songs/stories and audience engagement. He performs solo on guitar or banjo, and in collaboration with a collection of San Diego County’s top musicians.
His five-year run with Gemini Junction, encompassing two albums and uncounted performances, from the Star of India to the Spring Harp Fest, ended with the pandemic. In 2021, he produced his first solo album Only Just a Man, with Ramona Ault helping on vocals. During COVID lulls, he performed at places like Balboa Park EarthFair, Adams Avenue Unplugged, and Escondido Independence Day, with collaborators including Dave Ombrello (viola), Richie Strell (harmonicas), Peggy Watson (voice), and Terry Wardell (bass).
2024 was recording-heavy, culminating with the fall release of his second solo album LINES, but this time with a raft of supporting musicians. He also got his first song placement on TV, and a regular performance rotation at TERI Cafe in Vista, and various storytelling events.
2025 continues to build momentum, with JT and Terry featured at the Seldovia Alaska Summer Solstice Music Festival, and the trio with Richie in return engagements at Adams Avenue Unplugged and TERI Bluegrass Brunch. 2025 bookings include the San Diego Storytelling Festival and California Storytellers Story Swap series, Poway Train Song Festival and Songwriter Sanctuary. Watch for a new variant of the trio including Marty Schwartz and his magnificent violin lines.
